Flight 50 in the Logbook: Confessions of a Baby Flight Nurse
Hitting the Milestone
Well, friends, I hit a milestone recently: Flight Number 50 is in the logbook. I know, I know—that’s barely a blip on the radar for the seasoned veterans out there. But let me tell you, it came at a great cost of lost sleep, questionable life choices, and enough caffeine to power a small city. I’m still so proud, and I’m pretty sure the bags under my eyes are a direct result of earning those wings.
The Learning Curve of Flight Nursing
Every Medevac mission still feels like a final exam, and the learning curve in this Flight Nurse gig is less of a curve and more of a sheer cliff. Honestly, there is SO much I have yet to master, and every chaotic scene with EMS is a masterclass. I’m only just getting started, but the confidence you gain is unlike anything else.
Looking Ahead to the Next 50
I’m incredibly proud to have 50 under my belt, and even more excited to see where the sky (not the road, thankfully) will lead. If you need me, I’ll be prepping for the next 50. In the meantime, I’m wearing my Rotor Wash & Wear gear because if you can’t be well‑rested, at least you can look the part. Cheers to the Flight Crew!
